The Planet VC-820M is an 8-port VDSL2 managed switch with two Gigabit TP/SFP combo interfaces. It is designed for communities, network service providers, SIs, IP surveillance providers, and other organizations that need high-speed networking solutions. The VC-820M uses two core technologies: Ethernet and VDSL2 (Very-high-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line 2). When used with the PLANET VC-23x series of VDSL2 CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), the VC-820M offers the fastest data transmission speeds over existing copper telephone lines, making it an ideal solution for last-mile connectivity. Each VDSL2 interface on the VC-820M provides two copper phone ports. One port is for VDSL2 connection, while the other is for POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) connection. The built-in POTS splitter allows voice over telephone and network data to be transmitted over the same wire without interruption.
